Lag B’Omer 5786: Celebration at “Beit Chabad on Oleksandra Polia Avenue”

At “Beit Chabad on Oleksandra Polia Avenue,” one of the synagogues of the Dnipro Jewish Community, whose spiritual leader is the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s shliach, Rabbi Levi Engelsman, the evening of Lag B’Omer took place in the format of a men’s farbrengen, uniting congregants in an atmosphere of Chassidic joy, spiritual uplift, and warm fellowship.

With the onset of the holiday, the men gathered together to celebrate Lag B’Omer, associated with the yahrzeit of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai and the cessation of the plague among Rabbi Akiva’s students. During the gathering, niggunim were sung, participants listened to a Dvar Torah, conversed, and shared the special atmosphere of this day, filled with the light of Chassidic tradition and an inner sense of unity.

An important part of the evening was also the festive meal – a variety of delicious dishes were prepared for the participants, lending the gathering a truly homey and relaxed atmosphere, characteristic of a Chassidic farbrengen.

“Lag B’Omer is a special time of joy, unity, and spiritual strengthening,” says Rabbi Levi Engelsman. “It is very important that congregants can come together, hear words of Torah, sing niggunim, and feel that unique atmosphere of a Chassidic holiday that unites people. We are sincerely grateful to the Dnipro Jewish Community and Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki for their constant support and attention to the life of our Beit Chabad.”
