Jewish Medical Center “JMC” Becomes a Training Base for Medical Students

The Jewish Medical Center “JMC,” one of the most important institutions of the Dnipro Jewish Community, has taken another significant step in its development. The clinic, which has long become one of the leading medical facilities in the city, has reached a fundamentally new level: “JMC” is now an official clinical training base of the Dnipro State Medical University. This event holds significance not only for the community but for the entire city – and, without exaggeration, for the system of medical education in Ukraine.

An official cooperation agreement has been signed between DSMU and “JMC.” From now on, university students will undergo practical training at the clinic in two areas: physiology – for second-year students, and surgery – for senior students. Within the walls of “JMC,” future doctors will be able not only to become acquainted with the achievements of advanced medicine but also to master modern diagnostic methods: electrocardiography, electroencephalography, laboratory diagnostics, and the study of the functioning of the heart, nervous system, gastrointestinal tract, and the blood system. Senior students will also become familiar with the work of the surgical department and the operating unit.

In parallel, “JMC” collaborates with Israeli students studying in Dnipro, primarily second-year dental students. Their practical classes take place at the “Beit Yoel” facility – a renewed project of “Beit Chabad for Israelis,” located on the fourth floor of the administrative building of the “Golden Rose” Synagogue complex. By visiting “JMC,” Israeli students gain the opportunity to become acquainted with real clinical practice and modern medical technologies.

It is worth noting that a significant number of doctors and candidates of medical sciences, professors and associate professors who are also faculty members of DSMU work in the medical staff of “JMC.” This makes the cooperation between the clinic and the university particularly organic and meaningful.

“This is a very important stage for us,” emphasizes Oleksandr Rodynsky, General Director of “JMC,” Head of the Physiology Department at DSMU, Professor. “The Jewish Medical Center ‘JMC’ is one of the leading medical institutions in Dnipro, and the development of educational and scientific activities is one of the priority areas of our work, which provides assistance not only ‘here and now’ but also helps build a better future for the entire territorial community, for the entire city. This is one of the tasks set before us by the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
