The Jewish Medical Center “JMC,” a leading medical institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community, has received a donation of a modern, expert-class ultrasound diagnostic machine. This device will significantly expand the possibilities for early detection of diseases in adults and children and will help physicians make timely decisions on which the health, quality of life, and sometimes even the life of the patient often depend. This important gift was made possible through the support of philanthropist Melanie Kayfer, the organization Operation Mordechai, and the assistance of Sarah Jeruk, who actively participated in organizing the cooperation and implementing this project.
The transfer of the new machine was a significant event for the medical center. The new expert-class ultrasound system is equipped with a full set of probes for conducting practically all types of examinations and opens up additional possibilities for highly accurate diagnosis of a wide range of diseases. The device has been installed in the consultation room of the “JMC Surgery” department, where it will be used both for routine examinations and for solving complex clinical challenges.
“Modern medicine is impossible without high-quality and accurate diagnostics,” notes the General Director of JMC, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Oleksandr Rodynsky. “The earlier a doctor receives reliable information about a patient’s condition, the greater the possibilities for effective treatment and the higher the likelihood of a favorable outcome. The new expert-class ultrasound diagnostic machine significantly expands our capabilities, helps us make more precise clinical decisions, and allows us to provide care at an even higher level to both adults and children.”
The new machine significantly expands the capabilities of several areas of work at “JMC Surgery.” It will be used in the treatment of oncological diseases, vascular and endocrine surgery, orthopedics and traumatology, abdominal and thoracic surgery, spinal neurosurgery, as well as in other areas of modern medical practice. Thanks to the high precision of the examinations, doctors will be able to obtain the additional diagnostic information necessary for selecting the optimal treatment strategy and preparing for surgical interventions.
The use of the new machine, donated by Operation Mordechai and Melanie Kayfer, will also be of great importance for vascular surgery, as the use of such a level of ultrasound will allow JMC specialists to conduct both early diagnosis of vascular diseases and ongoing monitoring of patients at various stages of treatment. Equally significant are the new possibilities for diagnosing diseases of the endocrine system, the musculoskeletal system, internal organs, and other pathologies that require timely detection and accurate assessment of the patient’s condition. The new equipment is also of great importance for conducting comprehensive diagnostic examinations and check-up programs, within which the early detection of oncological diseases and other serious pathologies is possible.
“The new ultrasound machine will help our doctors treat diseases better, but most importantly, it will help preserve the health and even lives of our patients. For some, it will be the ability to detect a disease in time; for others, to obtain the most accurate diagnosis before surgery; and for someone, a timely diagnosis will be the decisive factor on the path to recovery,” emphasizes Professor Oleksandr Rodynsky. “We all express our sincere gratitude to philanthropist Melanie Kayfer, the organization Operation Mordechai, and Sarah Jeruk for their support and participation in the development of medical care. Thanks to such initiatives, the Jewish Medical Center gains new opportunities to fulfill its primary mission – caring for the health and well-being of people – which is one of the most important priorities in the activities of the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
