The Community Mourns – Oleg Lvovich Tsvetov Has Passed Away

The Dnipro Jewish Community and our website announce with deep sorrow that on the 91st year of his life, the soul of Oleg Lvovich Tsvetov has departed from the material world.

A respected member of the Dnipro Jewish Community, Oleg Lvovich Tsvetov was a Merited Coach of Ukraine and the USSR in swimming, who dedicated his entire life to training several generations of outstanding athletes. He began his coaching career in 1959 at the Dnipropetrovsk sports club “Meteor,” and from 1972 to 1991, he was a member of the coaching staff of the USSR and Ukrainian national swimming teams. Over the years of his work, Oleg Lvovich trained two Merited Masters of Sports, thirteen Masters of Sports of international class, and medalists of the Olympic Games, World and European Championships, as well as champions and record holders of the USSR and Ukraine. His name will forever remain in the history of Ukrainian sports, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his students, colleagues, and all who knew him.

The Dnipro Jewish Community and our website express their most sincere and deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, friends, and all who have suffered this grievous loss.
