The Jewish Medical Center “JMC,” a leading medical institution of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, has received a donation of state-of-the-art medical equipment that will significantly expand its capabilities in diagnostics, laboratory testing, and surgical treatment of patients. This important gift was made possible through the support of philanthropist Melanie Kelfer, President Operation Mordechai, and the facilitation of Sara Dzheruk, who played an active role in organizing the collaboration and implementing this project. The equipment was donated in the merit of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
An exceptionally important addition to the clinic is a modern electroneuromyograph, installed in the functional diagnostics department of JMC. The new device is designed for comprehensive examination of the peripheral nervous and muscular systems, greatly expanding the capabilities of the center’s specialists in diagnosing a wide range of neurological conditions.
“For our clinic, this is, without exaggeration, one of the most important devices we have received in recent times,” said the General Director of JMC, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Alexander Rodinsky. “The electroneuromyograph enables high-precision diagnostics of the peripheral nervous and muscular systems, assessment of peripheral nerves, neuromuscular transmission, and indirect evaluation of spinal cord and nerve root function. It allows for both basic and stimulation studies. This equipment is essential for neurologists, vertebroneurologists, spinal neurosurgeons, orthopedists, trauma specialists, rehabilitation physicians, and many other professionals. Today, this is the most advanced device of its class in Dnipro. It is particularly significant that our clinic’s physician, Natalia Zozulya, has undergone specialized training abroad and acquired the necessary qualifications to perform these studies and correctly interpret their results.”
Another significant enhancement to the clinic’s arsenal is a state-of-the-art portable hematology analyzer, installed at the left-bank branch of JMC, which houses an inpatient therapeutic unit with pediatric beds and offers extensive outpatient care for adults and children. The new device enables urgent blood tests to be performed directly at the branch, significantly reducing turnaround time for results.
“For our left-bank branch, this analyzer is of immense practical value,” said Professor Alexander Rodinsky. “It allows us to obtain blood test results within minutes, which is especially critical during emergency care. Additionally, given the specific nature of this branch’s work, the ability to perform laboratory testing directly during consultations is extremely important, as it helps the physician establish a diagnosis more quickly and begin necessary treatment without delay.”
The JMC surgical unit has also been enhanced with modern coagulation scissors, used during surgical interventions and essential tools in contemporary surgery. The new equipment expands the capabilities of the center’s surgeons during complex procedures and allows for the application of advanced surgical technologies in daily practice.
“The modern electrosurgical tissue sealing system significantly broadens our surgeons’ capabilities,” emphasized the General Director of JMC, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Alexander Rodinsky. “It enables reliable sealing of blood and lymphatic vessels during operations, reducing blood loss and lowering the risk of postoperative complications. This equipment will be used during both laparoscopic and open surgical interventions, including oncological, abdominal, coloproctological, and pediatric surgery. The use of such technologies helps perform operations more safely, promotes faster patient recovery, and elevates the overall standard of surgical care provided by the clinic.”
The new equipment, delivered to JMC through the support of President Operation Mordechai, has significantly expanded the technical capabilities of the medical center across several key areas of modern medicine.
The new diagnostic and surgical technologies will enable JMC specialists to detect diseases more effectively, provide treatment, and deliver high-quality medical care to adults and children.
