The sixth day of the “Nitzotzot Kdusha” girls day camp, organized by the Jewish Community of Dnipro with the support of the Jewish Relief Network Ukraine charity organization, was dedicated to the Menorah—one of the primary sacred vessels of the Beis HaMikdash. The participants learned about its special significance and why the light of the Menorah symbolized not merely physical illumination, but the spiritual connection between the Jewish people and the Almighty.
During the lesson, the girls were told how the Kohanim would light the Menorah daily with pure olive oil, and why its light held a unique place in the service of the Beis HaMikdash. The theme continued with a creative workshop, during which the participants made their own oil-based body scrub. Now each girl can use it at home and fondly remember this day of camp.
The recreational part of the program was also filled with creativity and joyful experiences. The girls took part in a unique challenge, decorating their counselors, and then put on a real fashion show. Each team used their imagination, created their own vibrant looks, and brought wonderful cheer to all the participants.
“The theme of the Menorah helped the girls understand that spiritual light is meant not only to illuminate one’s own life but to spread outward to those around them,” said Leah Lazareva, director of the “Nitzotzot Kdusha” camp. “Creative activities, shared challenges, and a joyful atmosphere help make these important lessons relatable and understandable to every participant, strengthening her connection to Jewish tradition and to the united and cohesive Jewish Community of Dnipro under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
