The Jewish Community of Dnipro extends its sincere gratitude to Gershon Itkin, a congregant of the Central “Golden Rose” Synagogue, who donated approximately 400 kilograms of fresh watermelons to the community. Thanks to this generous gift, many children, families, and elderly individuals were able to enjoy a delicious summer treat.
The watermelons were distributed among various institutions and programs of the Jewish Community of Dnipro. They were received by the students of the “Beit Tzindlicht” preschool center, the beneficiaries of the “Good Future” rehabilitation center for individuals with complex life circumstances, the residents of the “Beit Baruch” Home for the Elderly, participants in the community’s summer programs—including the “Gan Israel Levi Yitzchak” children’s camp—as well as congregants of the Central “Golden Rose” Synagogue, for whom a festive treat was organized.
Jewish tradition teaches that even a seemingly simple good deed has the power to bring joy to many people. When a person shares what they have with an open heart, their gift becomes not merely material assistance, but an expression of care, attention, and the fulfillment of the mitzvah of tzedakah. It is from such sincere acts that the atmosphere of mutual support is built—an atmosphere that has always been one of the core values of the Jewish Community of Dnipro under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.
