Menorah Community: A Men’s Lesson on Ki Tetze, Strength of Character, and Inner Freedom

The latest men’s Torah lesson at the Menorah Community youth project of the Dnipro Jewish Community, which is actively developing thanks to the efforts of the Zislin family, was devoted to the weekly chapter of Ki Tetze, which reveals the profound spiritual aspects of strength of character, personal responsibility, and inner freedom.

The speaker at the meeting was Reb Zalman Rabinovich, who offered the participants a detailed study of Ki Tetze, demonstrating how relevant its lessons remain for modern men. Particular attention was paid to what the Torah associates with true strength and what is the key to genuine victory, primarily internal, not external.

During the lesson, the participants reflected on why the Torah associates true strength not with the ability to conquer others, but with the ability to manage oneself; where the line of personal responsibility lies; and why even the most “ordinary” actions can change a person much more than they seem. A separate line of discussion was the understanding that the chapter “Ki Tetze” is a conversation about character, choice, and inner freedom. Its lessons help a man remain true to his principles, navigate life’s trials with dignity, and see every situation as an opportunity for spiritual growth and self-improvement.

“The weekly chapter “Ki Tetze” is surprisingly contemporary: it teaches how to remain human when surrounded by too many rules, conflicts, temptations, and difficult decisions,” noted Levi Zislin, director of the Menorah Community project. “It is through Torah study, the desire to implement its teachings in everyday life, and constant self-improvement that our spiritual connection is strengthened, helping each of us to participate even more actively in the life of our beloved, united, and cohesive Jewish community of Dnipro under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
