“Menorah Community”: Women’s Class on Parshas Ki Savo, the Importance of Gratitude, and the Ability to “See Blessings”

The “Menorah Community” youth project of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, which has been actively developing thanks to the efforts of the Zislina family, recently held another women’s class dedicated to the weekly portion of Ki Savo, which reveals the significance of gratitude, the ability to notice the blessings of the Almighty, and the conscious awareness of all the good that is already present in a person’s life.

The speaker for the gathering was Osnat Liberman, who invited the participants to reflect deeply on one of the most important ideas of Parshas Ki Savo – the understanding that a person should not only strive to receive blessing but also learn to recognize it, feeling gratitude to the Almighty for all that has already been given.

During the session, the participants reflected on how a woman’s inner state affects the atmosphere in the home, why gratitude is an important part of spiritual life, and how words, thoughts, and actions can change not only a person’s mood but also the world around them.

Special attention was given to the fact that the ability to notice good and respond with gratitude is not merely a positive character trait, but an essential component of the Jewish worldview. It helps a woman consciously build her life in accordance with the values of the Torah and see the Almighty’s blessings in everyday life.

“It was very important for the girls to see that Parshas Ki Savo teaches us not only to ask for blessing but also to notice the good that the Almighty sends to each person every day,” said Esti Zislina, co-director of the project. “Such gatherings help us to understand more deeply that it is gratitude, combined with faithfulness to Jewish tradition and the observance of mitzvos, that helps a woman walk the path of blessing, strengthening her family and our beloved united and cohesive Jewish Community of Dnipro under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
