A solemn ceremony marking the completion of a new Sefer Torah, gifted to the Jewish Community of Dnipro by the family of Levi and Sara Sharinov together with their children Michael and Rina, took place at the “Levi Yitzchak” Synagogue: “This Sefer Torah is being gifted to the Jewish Community of Dnipro by Beit Chabad Levi Yitzchak – Levi and Sara Sharinov, together with their children Michael and Rina. May the Almighty bless them with good health, long and good years of life, success in material and spiritual matters, peace and harmony in the family, great prosperity, and joy and comfort from their descendants.”
The completion of the scroll became a true celebration for all those gathered. Each of the honored guests was given the opportunity to inscribe their own letter in the Torah, assisted by the sofer of the “National Center of Sofrut of Ukraine,” Reb Levi Averbuch.
The honor of completing the final letters of the scroll was bestowed upon Rabbi Yisroel Aryeh-Leib Gurevich of the “Levi Yitzchak” Synagogue, Chief Rabbi of Dnipro Shmuel Kaminezki, the philanthropists and founders of “Beit Chabad Levi Yitzchak” – Levi and Mikhoel Sharinov, Yitzchak and Alexander Dveris, as well as Reb Natan Zolotarevsky. As a sign of special gratitude, Rabbi Kaminezki inscribed a letter in honor of the president of the International Foundation “Solidarity,” Alexander Petrovsky, and his family.
Upon completing the writing, the scroll was raised according to all traditions, clothed in an embroidered cover. Then, under the chuppah in the courtyard of the “Millennium” factory, on whose grounds the synagogue is located, festive dancing with the Torah took place.
The hakafos became a vibrant conclusion to this special day — a day of joy, blessing, and unity of the entire community.
