At the “Menorah Community” youth project of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, which has been actively developing thanks to the efforts of the Zislina family, another women’s class was held, dedicated to the holiday of Sukkos, its profound spiritual meaning, and an understanding of why the Torah calls precisely this holiday “the time of our rejoicing.”
The speaker for the gathering was Osnat Liberman, who invited the participants to take a fresh look at one of the main lessons of Sukkos. Reflecting on the mitzvah of leaving one’s familiar home and, for the duration of the holiday, dwelling under the fragile roof of the sukkah, the participants spoke about trust in the Almighty, a woman’s inner foundation, and the joy that is born not from external well-being, but from faithfulness to the Torah and a sense of the Divine presence in one’s life.
During the session, they discussed why it is precisely the temporary booth that becomes a symbol of a person’s true security. The participants reflected on the fact that true stability comes not through external circumstances, but through trust in the Almighty, a readiness to follow His will, and the ability to preserve inner calm even when the familiar supports prove to be fragile.
Special attention was given to the women’s understanding of the holiday of Sukkos. Speaking about the role of a woman in the home, the participants noted that it is she who, to a great extent, creates the atmosphere in which joy, peace, and a sense of blessing are born, and trust in the Almighty becomes a natural part of the daily life of the entire family.
“It was very important for the girls to see that the joy of Sukkos is born not when life is filled with material goods, but when a person learns to trust the Almighty and accept His will, preserving an inner foundation and faithfulness to Jewish tradition,” said Esti Zislina, co-director of the project. “Such gatherings help us understand more deeply the meaning of Jewish holidays, promote spiritual growth, the fulfillment of mitzvos, and conscious preparation for them, strengthening our beloved united and cohesive Jewish Community of Dnipro under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
