At the Jewish Lyceum No. 144 named after Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, a leading educational institution of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, a well-known and greatly beloved children’s incentive campaign took place in the “Space of Rewards” format – an event during which students can exchange earned points for gifts and kosher treats.
This time, the campaign was held not in the “Shop” format but in the special “Space of Rewards” variant, which became the summation of the first period of the new school year – that is, the first month of study and the special period of the holidays of the month of Tishrei. During this time, the lyceum students not only studied but also actively participated in morning gatherings, prayers, festive lyceum programs, and events of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, helped one another, observed the school dress code, and earned the special currency of this school year – “Rebbe dollars.”
For the children, this program has long become an understandable and joyful tradition, for they know that their diligence, good deeds, participation in prayer, responsibility, and respect for the lyceum’s rules do not go unnoticed. The “Space of Rewards” helps make the educational idea very concrete – every daily step matters, and the efforts accumulated over several weeks turn into a visible result.
During the event, the children were able to choose for themselves toys, creative sets, useful little things, pleasant surprises, and favorite kosher treats. But the main meaning of this campaign is not so much in the gifts as in the fact that the child learns to connect joy with their own labor, responsibility, and participation in the life of the Jewish lyceum.
“It is very important to us that children feel that their diligence is noticed and appreciated, and that every good deed, prayer, help to friends, and participation in the life of the lyceum become part of their personal growth,” noted Leah Lazareva, a teacher at the Department of Jewish Studies. “The ‘Space of Rewards’ is a place where diligence turns into joy, for the most precious thing is the eyes of the children, their smiles, and the awareness that every good deed, every effort, every action matters. And for the opportunity to give children joy and Jewish education, we thank from the bottom of our hearts the united and cohesive Jewish Community of Dnipro under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
