Happy Birthday, Dnipro Jewish Museum!

Today, October 16th, the Museum of Jewish Memory and the Holocaust in Ukraine celebrates its fourteenth anniversary!

Opened in 2012 in the “Menorah” Cultural and Business Center, the museum has become an important center for preserving Jewish history and an integral part of the life of the Dnipro community. Here, personal stories combine into the story of a people, family relics become testimonies of eras, and an acquaintance with the past helps to deepen one’s understanding of the present.

Behind every exhibition stands the extensive and painstaking work of the team: searching for and researching artifacts, collecting historical testimonies, preparing scholarly publications, creating exhibitions, and conducting tours and museum classes. Unique exhibits, art installations, and modern multimedia tools help tell the story of Jewish life in Ukraine—its richness and diversity, the tragic pages of the Holocaust, and the revival of the community.

Since the beginning of 2026, eight temporary exhibitions dedicated to the history of the Holocaust, Jewish tradition, and the artistic heritage of the community have opened at the museum. The exhibition “War for Independence. Chronicle of Indomitability,” which documents the events of the current Russian-Ukrainian war and preserves testimonies of our present for future generations, also continues to develop.

Despite all the trials, the museum remains a place of meeting, learning, and dialogue. Among its visitors are schoolchildren and students, internally displaced persons, and military personnel. Attentiveness to each person’s experience, and the readiness to speak about difficult things and seek answers together, give this work special value.

The Dnipro Jewish Community wholeheartedly congratulates the museum team on its birthday! We thank you for your dedication, daily work, and careful preservation of the memory of the Jewish people. We wish you peace, strength, and inspiration, new research, meaningful exhibitions, and grateful visitors. May the museum continue to unite generations, reveal names and stories, and strengthen the living connection between past, present, and future!
