After the autumn holidays of the month of Tishrei, the volunteer project of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, “Tov VeChesed,” under the leadership of Chana Nesches, which helps children deprived of parental care in the institutions of the “Good at Home” program, has again begun regular meetings, classes, and the implementation of educational and charitable projects.
This Sunday, for the participants of the programs living in the children’s home of the “Good at Home” system, a new cycle of classes based on the weekly Torah portions began, starting with the first portion of the book of Bereishis. Together with the children, the volunteers spoke about the creation of the world and about the fact that the Almighty created it according to a certain plan. He has a design for the whole world and for every person, and everyone, including a child, can become part of this global process and participate in fulfilling the Almighty’s plan. Therefore, it is important to study this design and to try to build one’s life in accordance with G-d’s guidance, for everything He does is for good.
In addition to the class, the volunteers brought treats for the children, played with them, and drew pictures. They tried to create a warm and joyful atmosphere, to give each child attention, care, and time, and also to give them the opportunity to feel human warmth and support.
“We are very glad to meet with the children again after the autumn holidays and to begin studying the Torah together from the portion of Bereishis,” said Chana Nesches, director of the “Tov VeChesed” project. “For its main idea is important for every person: the Almighty has a special plan for the world and for each of us, and our task is to strive to understand it and to follow it, remembering that everything the Almighty does is good.”
