At the “Beit Tzindlicht” children’s educational center, a leading preschool institution of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, a large-scale renovation of the floor covering of the first floor and the stairwells has been completed. In just one month, it was possible to completely replace the old ceramic tiles in the lobby, the corridor, and the stair landings, to renew the steps, and to noticeably transform the interior space of the preschool. The results of the renovation received high praise from the parents and staff of the institution, who joyfully welcomed these changes.
The need for renovation was caused by the significant wear of the floor covering. The tiles in the lobby and corridor had served for over twenty years, essentially since the opening of “Beit Tzindlicht,” and over time had begun to crack and peel away from the base. The covering of the stair landings had an even more venerable age: the building in which “Beit Tzindlicht” is located was constructed in 1963, and the tiles on the stairs had likely survived from those times, meaning they had served for about sixty years. It was decided that the lobbies and stairs required not partial restoration but a full renewal.
The renovation work covered the lobby, the corridor, and the stair landings, without touching the premises of the children’s groups. The builders completely dismantled the old tiles, prepared the base, performed a new floor screed, and laid modern ceramic covering. In addition, the steps of the exterior stairs were painted. The entire complex of work was completed within one month, ensuring a quality renewal of the premises used daily by the children, parents, and staff of the preschool.
The perception of the interior space of “Beit Tzindlicht” changed especially noticeably. The new light-colored floor covering made the lobby, corridors, and stair landings visually more spacious and brighter, giving them a fresh, neat, and modern appearance. At the same time, the renewal has not only aesthetic but also practical significance, since quality floor covering is important for safety, convenience, and compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements in a preschool institution.
The results of the renovation evoked sincere joy among the children of the preschool and received numerous positive reviews from their parents. Noticing the changes that had taken place, many of them remarked how much brighter and more beautiful the premises had become, expressed admiration for the work performed, and thanked the community for its care for the children. For the parents, it is especially important to see that the Jewish Community of Dnipro pays attention not only to educational and formative programs but also to the everyday conditions in which their children spend a significant part of the day.
“When the parents first saw the renovated premises, we heard so many warm words, enthusiastic reviews, and sincere gratitude that it became entirely obvious how important such changes are for our families,” says Rebbetzin Risha Gurevich, director of the “Beit Tzindlicht” preschool. “It is especially pleasant that the children also notice the renewal and rejoice in how beautiful and bright their beloved preschool is becoming. We greatly appreciate that the Jewish Community of Dnipro constantly cares for our institution, year after year creating ever more comfortable and favorable conditions for the children. Such care is of enormous significance for the children, the parents, and our entire staff, for ‘Beit Tzindlicht’ is an important part of the united and cohesive Jewish Community of Dnipro under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
