JBBBS – Gatherings That Bring People Together

The JBBBS (Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters) project of the Jewish Community of Dnipro unites children and teenagers, creating for them a space of friendship, communication, mutual support, and vivid shared experiences. But no less important a part of the project is the opportunity simply to be together, to meet, to share news, to laugh, and to feel oneself part of a united and cohesive community.

“In everyday life, filled with cares, tension, and anxieties, such gatherings acquire special value. Sometimes it is precisely a heartfelt conversation with friends that helps one distract oneself from worries, breathe out a little, and restore one’s strength. It is not necessary to invent a special occasion: sometimes it is enough to gather together, tell a funny story, laugh at jokes, and feel that beside you there are people with whom you feel good.

It is especially pleasant to see how our participants communicate with one another: everyone has news and stories, jokes give way to sincere laughter, and an ordinary gathering turns into an event that one wants to await again. Gradually such moments add up to something more than simply shared leisure – into true friendship, trust, and a sense of belonging to a common circle,” says project director Tatyana Kaplunskaya.

“It is very important to us that JBBBS be not only a place of interesting activities and shared adventures but also a space where children find friends, learn to trust one another, and know that they are always awaited and welcome. We want every participant to feel themselves part of a large, friendly family.

We believe that JBBBS is not only interesting activities and shared adventures. It is also friendship, support, trust, and the feeling that you are part of a community where you are always welcome.

We sincerely thank for this the Jewish communities of Dnipro and Boston and the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro, Shmuel Kaminezki. For the support of the JBBBS program and the opportunity to create such important gatherings for children. Join our community! Natalia – 068-480-30-52 (messengers); Yana – 093-356-02-12.”
