How the Jewish Museum Will Celebrate International Museum Day This Year

The Museum “Memory of the Jewish People and the Holocaust in Ukraine” has announced events dedicated to International Museum Day.

The organizers say you can expect:

1:00 PM – Opening of the temporary exhibition “Ukrainian-Jewish Century: Photographs and Stories 1920–2024,” prepared by the International Institute of Jewish History Centropa. The exhibition consists of two parts. The first is based on over 260 interviews and 3,000 archival photos documenting the life of Jewish communities in Ukraine before and during the Holocaust. The second part features contemporary photos by American photographer Edward Serotta and Ukrainian photographers M. Levin and T. Kovalchuk, capturing the lives of Jewish communities in Lviv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Odessa, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Kharkiv during the war. Also on display are photos showcasing the lives of notable figures such as Vasily Grossman, Bruno Schulz, and Sholom Aleichem. This exhibition is not only about the past but also about our present;
