Organizers note: “The world around us changes every day. But there are things that keep us balanced: memory, tradition, and a sense of belonging. This is the theme of the fifth Ukrainian–Jewish calendar from ‘Project Kesher.’ During the presentation, we will reveal the story behind this unique calendar, decorated with traditional paper ornaments — ‘reyzele.’ Guests will learn how Ukrainian and Jewish motifs intertwine in these patterns, which symbols they preserve, and how ‘reyzele’ differ from traditional Ukrainian vytynanka. It will be a conversation about art, memory, and the dual cultural codes embedded in paper.
The opening will feature members of the author group, representatives of the All-Ukrainian Jewish Women’s Organization ‘Project Kesher,’ as well as community and religious activists. A highlight of the evening will be the lighting of the first Hanukkah candle inside the Museum. Guests will enjoy pleasant surprises and gifts!”
