Children’s Farbrengen for 22 Shevat at Beit Zindlicht

At the “Beit Zindlicht” Children’s Educational Center, the leading early childhood institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community, a children’s farbrengen was held in honor of 22 Shevat—the yahrzeit of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson, wife of the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson. In a warm and joyous atmosphere, the youngest students were introduced to the Rebbetzin’s character and the spiritual meaning of this special day.

During the farbrengen, the children listened to a story about Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka, learning about her kindness, modesty, and care for others. The story was presented in a manner accessible to young children, allowing each child not only to hear but to emotionally connect with its message. Such an introduction helps, from an early age, to form an understanding of Jewish values through living examples of a righteous life.

The program also included lively themed games, which helped the children better absorb what they had learned through movement and interaction. A special segment featured a short skit based on the story they had heard, in which the children could participate, experiencing the narrative through play. This format made the event not only educational but genuinely exciting for the children. The farbrengen was lively, joyful, and met with great emotional resonance from the little ones, blending Jewish content, play, and the warm atmosphere of community togetherness.

“We tried to conduct this day in such a way that the children would feel warmth and joy while also connecting to the important Jewish values associated with the figure of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka,” said Naomi Chaya Yavorska, an educator at the children’s center. “Such events help the youngest members of our community grow with a sense of belonging to tradition and Jewish life, and we are sincerely grateful to the Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
