The Second Candle of Hanukkah-5786 in Dnipro was Lit by Boris Markov

A ceremonial lighting of the second candle took place in Dnipro at the main city Hanukkiah, located at the intersection of the galleries in the world’s largest Jewish center, “Menorah.”

The event host, Shlomo Tereshkevich, invited the Director of the Dnipro Jewish Community, Zelig Brez, who warmly greeted everyone who came to the celebration, wished them a happy Hanukkah, and announced the Jewish leader honored with lighting the second candle of the eight-day holiday. He highlighted the role of the distinguished philanthropist and patron in the development of the Jewish community and his support for its social projects – the esteemed member of the Dnipro Jewish Community, Boris Markov.

Boris Markov recited the blessings and lit two candles on the large silver Hanukkiah to the applause of all present. He then warmly congratulated everyone on this important and inspiring holiday, which carries a powerful charge of spiritual light so needed in these difficult times.

The second, smaller Hanukkiah, also located in the “Menorah” center, was invited to be lit by the young emissary of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in Dnipro, Yosef Nachshon.

The Hanukkah atmosphere was created by a performance from the Dnipro klezmer band, and the celebration concluded with a quiz and the traditional lottery with valuable prizes.
