The Jewish community of Dnipro carried out a large-scale charitable initiative distributing food aid packages from the charitable organization JRNU (Jewish Relief Network Ukraine) to families with young children.
Three hundred and twenty families from vulnerable groups received food packages containing essential groceries – kosher chicken, grains, canned vegetables, cooking oil and dairy products, plus various treats. The recipients included displaced families, religious families, participants in other community programs, and families whose children attend Jewish educational institutions.
The distribution went incredibly smoothly and systematically, as is typical for the Jewish community of Dnipro, which has tremendous experience running large-scale charitable campaigns. Many of those who received aid wrote heartfelt words of gratitude. Here are just two of them:
Svetlana Yevsega: “Thank you for your help during this difficult time. I’m a single mother raising my daughter on my own. Thank you for helping us with food. Without your organization, life would be so much harder for me, but with you, it’s easier. I wish you peace, health in your challenging work. Thank you. Peace, peace, peace.”
Malka (Olga) Boltyanska: “I’m raising my special son with autism on my own – his name is Levi (Bogdan). Our family lives in tough circumstances and it’s really hard to find money for groceries, especially when everything is so expensive right now. Before the school year, extra expenses pop up to get your child ready for school. We were deeply moved when we received this wonderful food package – you pleasantly surprised us as always with kosher chicken and sweets, tea, coffee, milk and so much more that we never have enough money for, but a child wants to eat well and tasty food. I sincerely thank you for your care and help.”
The Jewish community of Dnipro expresses deep gratitude to JRNU (Jewish Relief Network Ukraine) for providing the opportunity to help families in need with children.
