Matzah for Pesach – a gift for the Rebbe

We have already told you how on the birthday of the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem-Mendel Schneerson, the students of the Mahon made a good decision to do everything possible to ensure that the Jews of Dnipro had matzah and everything they needed to celebrate Pesach, and that this would be a wonderful gift for the Rebbe, who paid great attention to ensuring that every Jew had kosher matzah for Passover, and whose father, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, was repressed by the Soviet authorities precisely because he cared about providing Jews with matzah.

The students of the Mahon, led by Amora Daniela Listengurt, visited thirty elderly Jewish families and brought them wonderful kits from the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine, which included matzoh shmura, regular square matzoh, kosher juice, kehara, kiddush glasses, a luxurious Haggadah, and even a tablecloth, candles, and a kippot. The girls sincerely communicated with the people of the golden age, telling them how to make a small but important Seder, even learning the songs for the holiday and the sequence of actions on the Seder with them.

The students of the Tomhei Tmimim Yeshiva Ketana Ukraine also made a similar mitzvah on the eve of Passover as a gift to the Rebbe. They also visited the families of elderly Jews to help them celebrate Passover in a kosher manner.

The event was held with the support of the Jewish Community of Dnipro.
