Volunteers – participants of informal education programs implemented with the support of the charitable organization Jewish Relief Network Ukraine – are actively assisting in the preparations for the Lag B’Omer holiday in the Dnipro Jewish Community. JRNU provided important attributes for the holiday events – caps and water bottles with holiday symbolism – which will be used during the parade and the festive concert dedicated to this important date.
For the upcoming parade and the community’s large-scale event, participants of the children’s program “DJCY – STL kids – JFuture” assembled paper caps with Lag B’Omer and JRNU symbols, which will become a bright element of the holiday attributes. Meanwhile, participants of the teen program “DJCY – STL Teens – EnerJew” and students of the youth project “DJCY-STL-STARS Dnipro” were engaged in applying labels to water bottles, preparing them for distribution to participants of the large community event.
Jewish Relief Network Ukraine provided prepared accessories for the celebration in the Dnipro Jewish Community – 450 caps, 450 bottles of water, holiday banners, and 450 packages of sweet sticks, as well as wonderful balloons that will create a special atmosphere. This support is an important part of ensuring the high level of event organization traditional for mass gatherings in our city.
“Such collaborative work, involving children, teenagers, and students, not only helps prepare the holiday properly but also fosters in the participants a sense of responsibility, belonging, and understanding of how large community events are created,” said Rabbi Reuven Kaminezki. “We deeply appreciate the cooperation with Jewish Relief Network Ukraine and the tremendous assistance this organization provides in implementing the programs of the Dnipro Jewish Community, as well as the opportunity to prepare such large-scale events together, uniting the entire community under the leadership of the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro, Shmuel Kaminezki.”
