“DJCY-STL-STARS Dnipro” Prepares for the Wedding of Its Students

The youth program of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, “DJCY-STL-STARS Dnipro,” implemented with the support of STL, is approaching a very special and joyful occasion — the upcoming wedding of two of its participants, Shneor Zalman Lazarev and Miriam Podgurska.

In anticipation of the chuppah, which will take place on the 28th of Sivan, 5785, all students of the program have been introduced to the Jewish laws and customs related to marriage — one of the most important aspects of a person’s life. They have studied the structure of the “Chuppah ve-Kiddushin” ceremony and explored the deep spiritual meaning of each of its elements — from the ring and the ketubah to the seven blessings.

As a result, all the students are well-prepared and motivated to take full and conscious part in the wedding events that will be held at the Menorah Center.

“Love and marriage are always given special attention in our program, as one of our key goals is to help young people build strong Jewish families on the solid foundation of Torah and mitzvot,” says Chaya Maltseva, head of the “DJCY-STL-STARS Dnipro” project. “This class was very emotional, and Leah Lazareva led it with great warmth and love, preparing our students for the upcoming wedding of her brother-in-law. We are all looking forward to it with excitement, as each wedding of our students is a major event for us, a great joy for the Jewish Community of Dnipro, and a true nachas for the Rebbe.”
