Jewish Teens Celebrated Sukkot

Within the framework of the teen program “DJCY – STL Teens – EnerJew,” implemented by the Jewish Community of Dnipro with the support of STL and the JRNU fund project EnerJew, a festive gathering dedicated to Sukkot took place. It brought together about 20 participants who spent time together, combining the fulfillment of mitzvos with games, creativity, and socializing.

Beila Letichevskaya, director of the teen project, shared how the celebration went: “On the days of Chol HaMoed, the teens gathered in the sukkah to fulfill the mitzvah of ‘Arba Minim’ – the four species of plants, and then for a festive meal in the sukkah. The menu featured burgers and French fries, and the meal itself became an opportunity to socialize and share the joy of the holiday.

After the refreshments, a team program with contests and tasks began. The participants earned points, which at the end of the gathering they were able to exchange for prizes during a team auction. The party concluded with a creative workshop: the teens made soap in the shape of esrogim with their own hands – one of the symbols of the holiday.

The gathering took place in an atmosphere of friendship, fun, and team spirit, uniting festive traditions, active recreation, and creativity. On behalf of all the participants of the program and their parents, I want to express special gratitude to the Jewish Community of Dnipro, Rabbi Reuven Kaminezki, and the Lazarev family for their help in organizing the event.”
