In the program for Jewish teenagers “DJCY-STL teens-EnerJew”, implemented by the Jewish Community of Dnipro with the support of STL and “Enerjew” (a project of the “JRNU” foundation), they prepared for the holiday of Purim at two Sunday meetings.
“At the first meeting, we recalled the history of the holiday and discussed Purim narratives, as well as the traditions of the holiday,” says the head and host of the program Beila Letychevska, “each of the teenagers chose an image that they wanted to present for the holiday. The following Sunday, we joined the “Enerjew” campaign to prepare Mishloach Manot specifically among Jewish teenagers.”
For this campaign, an extraordinary lottery was held from the beginning – the names of the project participants were recorded and each of those present drew one, and thus found out who exactly he or she would prepare and give Shelochmunes to. “It was very fun and very Purim-like, because “pur” translates as “lot,” – continues Beila Letychevska, – after the draw, we prepared all the sets, which turned out very beautiful and bright, and most importantly, now all our participants will be able to fulfill one of the Purim commandments and on Friday we will exchange gifts with each other.
