The DJCY-STL-STARS Dnipro youth project of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, supported by STL, recently hosted a session of the monthly women’s Rosh Chodesh Club.
As always, the students of the project discussed topics related to the arrival of the new Jewish month—this time, the month of Iyar, which is the second month when counting from Nissan and the eighth when counting from Rosh Hashanah (Tishrei).
The session was led by Tzipora Shufotinska, who began with a review of the general laws of Rosh Chodesh and then shared detailed insights into the unique qualities of the month of Iyar. But the club wasn’t limited to learning only—the students also played an engaging game on the theme of Sefirat HaOmer, enjoyed warm conversation, and treated themselves to kosher sushi from the well-known Dnipro brand “Laktionovy.”
