A traditional Siddur celebration—”Mesibat Siddur”—was held at the Dnipro Yeshiva-Ketana named after Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, the leading educational institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community for boys. The celebration was dedicated to the first-graders receiving their first full prayer book, the “Siddur Tefilas HaShem”.
The celebration for the youngest students of the Yeshiva-Ketana was led by their teacher, Mrs. Leah Dorfman, who organized a genuine quest throughout the entire yeshiva building. The children, by completing complex tasks and solving riddles, managed to pass all the tests and reach the synagogue hall, where personalized Siddurim awaited them. From now on, they will pray from these Siddurim, which will become the foundation of their personal library of holy Jewish books—the importance of owning such a library was emphasized by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.
“For every student, this is an extremely important moment in life when they are presented with the Siddur from which they will pray, and this book becomes a part of their life,” shared the Director of the Yeshiva-Ketana, Rabbanit Chana Segal. “Our teacher, Mrs. Leah Dorfman, organized this year’s ‘Mesibat Siddur’ with great love and pedagogical talent, and the celebration was wonderful thanks to the Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
