Three students of the prestigious international institution “Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva Ketana Ukraine” — where future rabbis and Jewish community leaders from many countries are trained — have memorized 12 chapters of the Tanya. That’s more than 25 pages of profound Chassidic teachings!
Among those distinguished are Menachem Mendel Neuman and Menachem Mendel Stambler from Dnipro, and Itamar Wolf from Kherson.
“Since 5736 (1975–76), the Lubavitcher Rebbe has urged every Jewish child to memorize 12 passages from the Torah and the words of our sages — and to recite them daily. Memorizing Tanya, however, is a unique spiritual achievement that reveals the soul’s inner strength,” said Head of Yeshiva Rabbi Eliyahu Hefer.
“When a person repeats words of Torah again and again — they become part of their mind and soul. I was deeply impressed by their incredible memory and precise knowledge of every line. These young men demonstrated not only outstanding abilities, but true dedication to Torah and Chassidut.
Chief Rabbi of Dnipro Shmuel Kaminezski met with the students and, as a token of recognition, awarded each of them a ticket for a trip to the Rebbe — as encouragement and a blessing for the future
On behalf of the entire yeshiva and the students’ parents, I express heartfelt gratitude to the Jewish Community of Dnipro and personally to Rabbi Kaminezki for the care, attention, and support they show to our youth.
The Jewish Community of Dnipro and our website warmly congratulate Menachem Mendel Neuman, Menachem Mendel Stambler, and Itamar Wolf, and wish them continued growth and strength in their study of Chassidut and Jewish knowledge.
