As always, the “Avot uBanim” (Fathers and Sons) class took place at the central “Golden Rose” Synagogue. This educational program of the Dnipro Jewish Community aims to strengthen the bond between generations through the study of Jewish religious texts at a set time on a set day of the week.
This time, the class, which was attended by over twenty people, was dedicated to the weekly Torah portion “Vayeshev” and its profound spiritual meanings, revealed through the lens of Chassidic teachings and the commentaries of great Jewish sages. Fathers together with their sons studied the Torah, discussing key points of the weekly portion that assist in daily life and in the proper understanding of the world’s structure.
At the end of the class, the traditional raffle was held, which helps motivate children to participate in the lessons with greater enthusiasm. This time, the winners were David Susorov, Yosef Shufotinsky, Levi Vaskovsky, Schneur Nachshon, and Itzhak Stambler, whom we sincerely congratulate.
“During this class, we were preparing for the major program dedicated to the New Year of Chassidism,” said Rabbi David Vaskovsky. “Next Monday, the topic of the ‘Avot uBanim’ program will be the holiday of Hanukkah and the spreading of spiritual light, of which this program is a part. It operates thanks to the Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
