The popular program of the Dnipro Jewish Community, “Avot uBanim” (Fathers and Sons), which aims to strengthen intergenerational bonds through the study of Jewish religious texts, has announced the start of its new season.
Program leader Rabbi David Vaskovsky shared that sessions will be held every Monday between Mincha and Maariv prayers at the central “Golden Rose” synagogue. Younger participants will have the opportunity to earn a medal from the international children’s organization “Tzivos Hashem,” and a raffle will take place after each session.
“This season, we will be studying the discourses of the Lubavitcher Rebbe,” emphasized Rabbi David Vaskovsky. “It is very important for fathers and sons to study Torah together, not just occasionally, but regularly — at least once a week at a dedicated time. Even if a father attends Torah classes for adults and the children study at school or yeshiva, this does not replace family learning. It is crucial for this time to be consistent and recurring, becoming a psychologically meaningful ritual that shapes the right family atmosphere.”
