A ceremony for the blessing of flowering fruit trees took place at the Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Jewish Lyceum No. 144, the leading educational institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community. According to Jewish tradition, this blessing is recited specifically in the spring month of Nissan, when nature renews and blossoms.
“The blessing of the trees was conducted at the Jewish lyceum by classes,” said Leah Lazareva, a teacher of Jewish traditions at the lyceum. “The teachers of the Judaic studies department organized these practical sessions with each class separately, explaining the meaning of this ritual and its significance.”
The blessing of the flowering trees took place near the lyceum building and became part of the educational process aimed at developing a well-rounded personality who respects the traditions of the Jewish people and can observe them consciously.
