During the days of Chol HaMoed Pesach, an outdoor event was organized for the students of the “Beit LeBanim” boarding school for boys of the Dnipro Jewish Community. The event was planned with both an active recreational program and a spiritual component consistent with the atmosphere of the holiday.
The recreational program included a variety of activities, among them go-karting, sports games, a visit to an adventure park, and an introduction to a farm with animals. For the boarding school students, this was an opportunity not only to spend time actively outdoors but also to gain vivid impressions, united by a shared atmosphere of joy and team interaction.
The main part of the outing took place at the “Zolotyi Plyazh” country resort park, along with a special festive meal organized at the well-known and comfortable “Kohavi Forest Club,” located in an ecologically clean area on the banks of the Samara River. Special attention was given to the organization of kosher catering that meets all the requirements of Pesach. The students participated in a full festive meal featuring matzah shmurah, underscoring the importance of observing traditions even in an outdoor recreation format. An important component of the program was also entertainment with spiritual content, allowing the joy of recreation to be combined with reflection on the meaning of the holiday.
“It was fundamentally important for us that the Chol HaMoed recreation combine not only entertainment but also spiritual substance consistent with Pesach,” noted Rabbi David Vaskovsky, director of the boarding school. “We sought to create an environment for the boys where joy, activity, and observance of traditions naturally complement one another. For the opportunity to realize this, we express deep gratitude to the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community and its Chief Rabbi, Shmuel Kaminezki.”
