Kinus Tzivos Hashem at Yeshiva Ktana

A Kinus of the local branch of the worldwide children’s organization Tzivos Hashem was held at the Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Yeshiva Ktana, the leading educational institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community for boys. The event was dedicated to awarding and encouraging its most active members.

The worldwide children’s organization Tzivos Hashem was established in 1980 by directive of the Lubavitcher Rebbe to educate children from elementary school age up to bar/bas mitzvah in the spirit of Torah and Chassidus, and to organize their leisure time collectively in an atmosphere of authentic Yiddishkeit.

The first Tzivos Hashem structures appeared in the United States and within a short time spread to many Jewish communities around the world. In our city, the Tzivos Hashem framework emerged in the mid-1990s as an important part of the infrastructure for educating Jewish children. Over the years, the Tzivos Hashem branch in Dnipro has been led by such distinguished Jewish leaders as Rabbi Rafael Rutman, Rabbi Yosef Glick, and Rabbi Shmuel Brown. The current head of Tzivos Hashem in Dnipro is Rabbi Dovid Vaskovsky.

“An important part of our activities is holding such Kinusei, during which the children are awarded and receive new ranks in our system. All of this is done in a festive manner, so their friends can celebrate their successes and it encourages healthy competition,” explains Rabbi Dovid Vaskovsky.

“The boys performed very well in their tasks, studied lines from sacred texts, participated in community life, performed mitzvos, and did good deeds. We are very happy that Tzivos Hashem in our city continues and expands its activities as an integral part of the unified and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of the Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
