At the Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Yeshiva in Dnipro, a leading educational institution of the Jewish Community of Dnipro for boys, a special and deeply meaningful moment took place during one of the recesses — a heartfelt prayer for peace in the world, with a special focus on Ukraine and Israel.
Jewish sacred sources repeatedly emphasize the extraordinary power of children’s prayers — pure and heartfelt. This unique power was often highlighted in the talks (sichot) of the Leader of our generation, the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson.
“The younger students of the yeshiva gathered during recess, gave tzedakah, read from the Torah, said Tehillim and the 12 pesukim with the intention that our countries, Ukraine and Israel, be protected from danger, be guarded, and that peace may come very soon,” said the yeshiva director, Rabbanit Chana Segal. “We know that the power of children’s prayers has brought salvation more than once, and we believe that our prayer too will contribute to the changes for the better — changes we hope to see soon. We want the people of Ukraine and Israel to know — we are praying with full sincerity, from the depths of our hearts, and we ask the Almighty to grant peace and safety.”
