“Mesibat Siddur” Celebration for First Graders of the “Chaya Mushka” School

As a beautiful and inspiring conclusion to the first school year at “Chaya Mushka”, a leading educational institution of the Jewish community of Dnipro, a special event was held — “Mesibat Siddur” for the youngest students.

“Mesibat Siddur” (Siddur Celebration) is a traditional event for children who have completed their first year of Jewish studies. This year’s event began with a video message from the Leader of our generation — the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson. Afterwards, the girls delighted everyone with lively performances — dances, songs, video clips, and joyful presentations filled with excitement and pride.

The highlight of the event was the speech of Rebbetzin Chana Kaminezki, who shared that children’s prayers become angels that adorn the Crown of the Almighty. She brought with her a special Torah crown — an exact replica of the one adorning the Rebbe’s Torah scroll in 770 in New York. The same crown now decorates a Torah scroll in the Dnipro synagogue. The girls, along with their mothers, were deeply moved as they approached to touch or kiss this sacred object.

Another heartfelt moment came with the giving of gifts: the girls gave flowers to their mothers, and school director Rachel Milman presented each student with a personalized Siddur in a beautiful cover.

The celebration concluded with refreshments and three exciting workshops: decorating personal photographs, crafting Shabbat candleholders, and designing cookies shaped like a Siddur.

“I want to congratulate each girl and wish her the greatest success,” said Dvora Neuman, teacher and host of the “Mesibat Siddur” event.
