Preparations for the Chassidic New Year at the “Chaya Mushka” Maḥon

At the “Chaya Mushka” Maḥon, the leading educational institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community for girls, a special campaign has been held to prepare for the Chassidic New Year – the 19th of Kislev, which marks the 226th anniversary of the Liberation of the founder of Chabad-Lubavitch Chassidism, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi (the Alter Rebbe), from Russian imprisonment.

Every morning, the girls watched a short video clip prepared by the 8th-grade students, which concluded with a specific question on the topic. The correct answer had to be written down and placed in a special box, and among the correct answers, sweet prizes were drawn the following day.

In addition, all students of the Maḥon are memorizing lines from the book “Tanya” in preparation for the Chassidic New Year. Four different lottery levels have been planned, in which those who have memorized a specified number of lines can participate. At the same time, every girl who joins this campaign will receive a special diploma and a sweet gift.

“We have approached the preparations for the Chassidic New Year and the study of materials related to this extremely important historical date with great care,” says Morah Edna Yudovich. “The girls are ready to participate at the highest level in the events for the 19th of Kislev, which will take place in our beloved Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
