Purim 5786 at Machon Chaya Mushka

At Machon Chaya Mushka, the leading educational institution for girls within the Dnipro Jewish Community, the holiday of Purim was celebrated with joy and vibrancy. On this day, the students were able to fulfill the primary mitzvos of the holiday together, spend time with one another, and experience the special atmosphere of the month of Adar, a time when, as Jewish tradition teaches, “joy is increased.”

The festive program began with prayer, after which all the girls gathered to fulfill one of the main mitzvos of Purim: the reading of Megillas Esther. The Megillah was read by Rabbi Moshe Neumann. The students listened attentively to every word, fulfilling the holiday’s mitzvah and together reliving the story of the salvation of the Jewish people.

Following the Megillah reading, the girls exchanged Mishloach Manos, greeting each other for the holiday. Afterwards, the participants went down to the gymnasium, where a beautiful photo zone had been set up. There, everyone had the chance to take memorable pictures with their friends; later, the girls will receive magnets featuring these photos.

The celebration continued with a festive seudah. During the meal, a short Purim presentation was prepared for the students, adding even more joy and holiday spirit.

“Throughout the day, a truly joyful and friendly Purim atmosphere prevailed in Machon Chaya Mushka, filling the girls’ hearts with a sense of unity, warmth, and authentic holiday joy,” noted Morah Edna Yudovich. “The holiday was very bright and memorable. For the opportunity to live a Jewish life full of the light of Yiddishkeit, with such wonderful holidays, we sincerely thank the unified and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of its Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
