On February 4, 2012, the Jewish Medical Center “JMC” opened in Dnipro. Over the past years, it has undergone rapid development, becoming one of the leading medical institutions in the region. It combines high professionalism, modern technology, and attentive care for every patient, all based on the fundamental principles of evidence-based medicine. It makes a significant contribution to the development of medicine not only in Dnipro but in Ukraine as a whole, as confirmed by the hundreds of thousands of people who have received medical assistance and the tens of thousands of lives saved.
Today, “JMC” is a large, multidisciplinary system comprising four branches: three in the city center and one on the left bank. The “Central” branch provides a wide range of outpatient and consultative services. The “Family Medicine” branch, located in the “Menorah” center, provides primary medical care and manages a large number of patient declarations under the Medical Guarantees Program of the National Health Service of Ukraine, allowing people to receive a state-guaranteed volume of medical services and examinations. The “Left Bank” branch includes a therapeutic inpatient department and a powerful rehabilitation unit, where patients undergo both physical and mental rehabilitation. The newest branch is the “Surgical” unit, with well-equipped operating rooms and an inpatient facility, where surgical interventions of varying complexity levels are performed.
The center’s team comprises 138 doctors, highly qualified specialists in more than 30 therapeutic and surgical medical fields. Working alongside them are over 50 medical and junior medical nurses, forming a cohesive team for whom the primary value is the health and life of every patient.
“An important component of the center’s structure is the ‘JMC-Oncology’ department, which covers the full pathway of patient care—from check-ups, examinations, and modern diagnostics to treatment using advanced techniques, including chemotherapeutic and surgical-oncological units,” explains the General Director of “JMC,” Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Oleksandr Rodynsky. “A particular point of pride for the center is the powerful ‘JMC-Surgery’ unit, where a wide range of surgeries are performed—from general and abdominal surgery to oncological, vascular, neurosurgery, urology, andrology, gynecological, and thoracic surgery. Within the surgical service, there is a breast pathology center performing both oncological and aesthetic surgeries for women, as well as a trauma unit, which conducts major joint replacements, particularly hip and knee. Dermatological and oncological surgery are developing as separate specializations.”
“JMC” also actively operates a pediatric surgery department, including abdominal and andrological interventions, pediatric traumatology, and orthopedics. Simultaneously, a powerful consultative unit functions, staffed by family doctors and narrow-profile specialists, including medical geneticists, hematologists, and many other physicians. An important place is occupied by the mental health service, where psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, and psychologists work, helping patients cope with the consequences of stress and difficult life circumstances.
“A promising direction our team is already working on is establishing an emergency and urgent medicine service,” continues Professor Oleksandr Rodynsky. “Even in the extremely challenging conditions of today, the medical center continues its stable operation, maintaining energy independence and uninterrupted care provision. The volume of surgical interventions is constantly growing, indicating patient trust and the expansion of the center’s capabilities. Just in 2025, over 45,000 people—or, more precisely, 45,680 patients—received treatment and consultations at the ‘JMC’ medical center. From February 2025 to February 2026, over 450 surgical interventions were performed at the center. During this same period, more than 360 patients were hospitalized and treated in the therapeutic inpatient unit, and from January 2025 to January 2026, over 500 people underwent rehabilitation in the rehabilitation department.”
The work of the Jewish Medical Center “JMC” in Dnipro has been made possible and continues thanks to the constant support of the Dnipro Jewish Community and its Chief Rabbi, Shmuel Kaminezki. This support allows for the combination of high medical standards with an atmosphere of care, dignity, and genuine humanity, felt in the attitude towards every patient.
“The foundation of our work is the highest respect for human life and health, as prescribed by Jewish law, our holy Torah and its commandments, as well as adherence to the most modern requirements of evidence-based medicine,” emphasizes Professor Oleksandr Rodynsky. “Our fourteen years of successful work clearly demonstrate that this combination of moral principles and high professionalism is the main direction for fulfilling our mission—to save lives, restore, preserve, and strengthen health, and prevent diseases so that the life of every person becomes better, and through this, the whole world becomes a better place.”
