At the “Beit Tzindlicht” children’s educational center—a leading preschool institution of the Jewish Community of Dnipro—an educational meeting took place between the students and officers of the National Police of Ukraine. Such events help children from an early age understand the importance of socially significant professions, fostering a sense of security and trust in those who stand guard over the law and help people every day.
During the meeting, the police officers told the children about their work, explaining the vital role the police play in society and why their primary mission is to protect people and ensure their safety. Special attention was given to how to identify a real police officer: the students learned that every police officer carries an official ID that confirms their identity and authority.
The highlight of the meeting was the introduction to a police patrol car. Every child had the opportunity to sit inside a real police vehicle, carefully examine its equipment, and feel like part of a police team. This hands-on experience sparked great interest in the children, gave them countless vivid impressions, and helped them better understand the importance of the service of those who have dedicated themselves to protecting society.
“It is very important for children to grow up without fear of the people who come to help them, and to understand that the police in Ukraine are people they can always turn to in a difficult situation,” said preschool teacher Naomi Chaya Yavorskaya. “Such meetings help cultivate respect for others, foster a sense of responsibility and security, and for this we sincerely thank the united and cohesive Jewish Community of Dnipro under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
