At the “Beit Zindlicht” Children’s Educational Center, the main preschool institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community, a variety of activities related to the theme of the weekly Torah portion take place every week. These sessions are conducted in different formats, adapted to the age-specific perception of the youngest children.
This week, the activities were dedicated to the narratives found in the weekly portion “Vayeira,” which concern the life of the Patriarch Abraham, as well as the fate of his family and loved ones. The children participated with great enjoyment in various dramatizations of the stories from this weekly portion, familiarizing themselves not only with the external sequence of events but also with their deep spiritual meaning.
“We pay very close attention to forming a correct worldview from the earliest age, and its foundation is the Torah,” explains Risha Gurevich, Director of “Beit Zindlicht.” “Such activities not only introduce children to the history of our people but also reveal the fundamental principles of our civilization and help them find reliable moral compass points.”
