At the “Beit Tzindlicht” children’s educational center—a leading preschool institution of the Jewish Community of Dnipro—a children’s farbrengen was held in honor of the yahrzeit of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, the distinguished rabbi, spiritual leader, and father of the leader of our generation, the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson. In a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the students learned about the life of this great tzaddik and his selfless dedication to the Jewish people.
The children heard how Rabbi Levi Yitzchak was a wise teacher, a man of deep faith and extraordinary fortitude, who remained devoted to Torah and his people even in the most difficult years. The story was adapted for the youngest students, allowing them not only to learn about his life but also to feel the significance of his spiritual heroism.
The program included the performance of the mitzvah of tzedakah, a creative activity making greeting cards, and theatrical skits depicting episodes from the life of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak. The celebration concluded with a traditional sweet farbrengen, which gave the children an atmosphere of joy, unity, and a sense of belonging to Jewish history and tradition.
“It is very important to us that even our youngest students learn about the great tzaddikim of our people from an early age, and through engaging activities, creativity, and shared celebrations, they become connected to Jewish values,” said preschool teacher Naomi Chaya Yavorskaya. “We are sincerely grateful to the united and cohesive Jewish Community of Dnipro and Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki for their ongoing support, thanks to which such events become an important part of our children’s lives.”
