Major Upgrades at “Beit Tsindlicht”: New Outdoor Learning Veranda, Inclusive Ramp, and Modernized Kitchen Ventilation

The Jewish Community of Dnipro continues its systematic efforts to develop, upgrade, and improve the physical and technical infrastructure of one of its most vital educational projects — the Beit Tsindlicht Children’s Educational Center.

The summer of 2025 has marked another important phase of this large-scale transformation. A brand-new, spacious, and thoughtfully designed outdoor veranda has been constructed in the preschool’s courtyard. This multifunctional space is now available for group learning, games, and daily activities, allowing children to spend quality time outside regardless of weather conditions — rain or heat. It also gives teachers the flexibility to organize and adapt the educational program during transitional seasons.

Thanks to its covered yet open structure, the new veranda can accommodate not only regular daily sessions but also festive events, themed play projects, educational workshops, and other group activities — all in a natural, environmentally friendly, and safe setting.

Another essential step toward full inclusivity was the installation of a new accessibility ramp at the main entrance of the preschool. While seemingly a minor technical feature, this addition carries profound humanitarian significance. It greatly improves access for individuals with disabilities, those with temporary mobility challenges, and parents with strollers — making it easier for everyone to attend events, participate in celebrations, or simply drop off their children. The understanding that spaces must be friendly, open, and equitable for all is one of the core values that guides the Jewish Community of Dnipro in its educational and social initiatives.

Equally important was the technical modernization of the kitchen’s air supply and ventilation system — a crucial component in any preschool setting. The new equipment provides significantly improved sanitary and hygienic conditions, ensures consistent air exchange, and enhances comfort for the kitchen staff who prepare delicious and balanced kosher meals for the children every day.

All work was carried out by highly qualified specialists from the community and fully complies with Ukraine’s official construction and safety standards — known as DBN (State Building Norms, formerly SNIP). This guarantees the safety, functionality, and long-term durability of every element of the updated infrastructure.
