Weekly Theme at “Beit Tsindlicht” – “Me and My Body”

Each week at the Beit Tsindlicht Children’s Educational Center, the leading preschool of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, a new theme is introduced. It is explored not only through dedicated lessons but also woven into daily activities — games, music and art sessions, discussions during walks, and even mealtimes.

This week’s topic was “Me and My Body,” aimed at helping the children explore their physical selves, gain self-awareness, and learn the basics of healthy living — how to care for their bodies, maintain hygiene, and stay active.

“Our kids learned a lot about different body parts — especially the face, hands, and other important organs,” shares kindergarten teacher Malka Averbukh. “We explained what each part is for, what functions it performs, and focused heavily on practical takeaways: the importance of washing hands with soap, building strong habits, showering regularly, brushing teeth, and eating nutritious food. The children learned what germs are, why they’re afraid of soap, and many other interesting facts about how to live a healthy and happy life.”
