In the youth project “Menorah Community” of the Jewish community of Dnipro, which is actively developing thanks to the efforts of the Zislin family, another women’s lesson was held, dedicated to the weekly section “Re’e”, which reminds us that the Almighty opens the path of blessing to a person, but a person must choose to follow it or make another choice on their own.
The speaker of the meeting was Osnat Lieberman, who invited the participants to delve deeper into one of the central ideas of the weekly section “Re’” – the understanding that blessings do not come by themselves, but are connected to a person’s daily choice to follow the will of the Almighty. During the session, it was discussed that the most important changes begin not with exceptional events, but with a multitude of daily decisions in which a person chooses the path indicated by the Torah again and again.
Special attention was paid to the fact that true female strength is manifested precisely in those actions that may seem imperceptible from the outside. It is through everyday care for the family, patience, gratitude, support of loved ones, and the desire to fill the home with warmth and light that the space of Jewish life is created in which children are raised, family relationships are strengthened, and Torah values are embodied.
A separate topic of the meeting was a special Hasidic date – 20 Av, the anniversary of the passing of the Chief Rabbi of our city in 1909-1939, Rabbi Levi-Yitzhak Schneerson, father of the Head of our generation, the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem-Mendel Schneerson. The participants recalled his life path, talked about how, despite the most difficult trials, he maintained his loyalty to the Torah, care for the Jewish people, and inner spiritual stability. His example became another reminder that loyalty to one’s calling and fulfillment of one’s duty do not depend on external circumstances.
“It was very important for the girls to see that the weekly section “Re’e” speaks primarily about the choice of the path of blessing that a person makes every day with their actions, words, and attitude towards fulfilling the commandments,” says project co-leader Esti Zislina. “Such meetings help to understand more deeply that it is the daily choice to observe Jewish tradition, even in the smallest, seemingly imperceptible manifestations, that becomes the basis of happiness for the person himself and his family, and also helps to change the whole world for the better.
