Another men’s Torah class at the “Menorah Community” youth project of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, which has been actively developing thanks to the efforts of the Zislina family, was dedicated to the weekly portion of Ki Savo and one of the most important questions it poses to a person: what does blessing truly depend on, and why do some people’s life paths unfold differently from others?
The speaker for the gathering was Reb Zalman Rabinovich, who addressed the most relevant questions related to Parshas Ki Savo, demonstrating how its ideas remain important for the modern man. Special attention was given to how the Torah views the connection between the Almighty’s blessing, a person’s way of life, and the choices they make every day.
During the lesson, the participants spoke about money, success, responsibility, and the consequences of human decisions, reflecting on why the Torah ties life’s outcomes not only to a person’s own efforts but primarily to the blessing they receive from the Almighty. The discussion focused on how the observance of mitzvos, faithfulness to the values of the Torah, and a person’s daily choices are connected to whether they are worthy of receiving this blessing.
A separate thread of the discussion was the understanding that Parshas Ki Savo speaks not only to events of the past but also to the present. Its lessons help to see that a person’s spiritual life, their relationship to Torah, and their readiness to follow its guidance matter not only for their inner world but for their entire life.
“Parshas Ki Savo helps each person reflect on the fact that true success depends not only on human effort but also on the blessing of the Almighty, and therefore teaches one to live in a way that makes them worthy of this blessing,” said Levi Zislina, director of the “Menorah Community” project. “It is through the study of Torah, the striving to live according to its teachings, and constant work on oneself that our spiritual connection is strengthened—helping each of us to participate even more actively in the life of our beloved united and cohesive Jewish Community of Dnipro under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
