“Menorah Community”: Women’s Class on the Strength Hidden Behind Fear

A special women’s class took place at the “Menorah Community” youth project of the Dnipro Jewish Community, which is actively developing through the efforts of the Zislin family. The gathering was held on Shushan Purim and was dedicated to reflections on the strength hidden behind fear, and how a person can find inner support even in moments of uncertainty and anxiety.

Together with project instructor Daniela Listengurt, the class participants delved into the Megillah, focusing on those moments in the story where fear becomes a point of inner growth and spiritual choice. The conversation centered on how, when facing the unknown, a person can make a courageous decision and thereby change the course of events.

The story of Queen Esther served as the central example for discussion. Participants spoke about how, precisely in the most difficult and anxious moments, a person’s inner strength is revealed – enabling them to act with faith and responsibility, even when the path forward is not entirely clear.

“While studying the Megillah, we discussed how fear is not always a weakness; sometimes it becomes a point of growth and inner choice,” says Esti Zislin, co-director of the project. “Esther’s story reminds us that even amidst uncertainty, a person is capable of making a courageous decision and changing the course of events. Such classes help each of us more deeply feel our inner strength and unique role within the life of the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of its Chief Rabbi, Shmuel Kaminezki.”
