In the “Sinai” hall of the world’s largest Jewish center, “Menorah,” a spectacular show-performance took place, organized by the Dnipro-based “Chaya Mushka” Mahon. This event became a significant women’s celebration not only for Dnipro but also for various Jewish communities across Ukraine.
The festive atmosphere embraced the guests even before they entered the hall. In the foyer, each woman and girl was presented with a copy of Igrot Kodesh and given small flags, which were to play an important role in the performance. Among the audience were representatives of many institutions of the Dnipro Jewish community, including the “Beit Tzindlicht” kindergarten, the Jewish lyceum, MGPI “Beit Hana,” the “Beit Baruch” home for the elderly, as well as guests from the Jewish communities of Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kamianske.
The musical show-performance, titled “Diamonds for the Rebbe,” was based on true stories in which the guidance and advice of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, helped Jewish families across the world—sometimes profoundly changing their lives for the better and sometimes even saving lives, ensuring the continuity of Jewish families. The storyline revolved around discussions among the Mahon girls about their future shlichut (missionary work) and their stories about Jewish experiences in different countries and eras. The climax of the performance was their collective decision to become shluchot (emissaries) in Ukraine, bringing joy to the Rebbe by supporting Jews and reviving Jewish life in their homeland.
Each class at the Mahon prepared a creative segment for the show—whether a dance, a song, or a short dramatization—that blended seamlessly into a rich, multi-genre performance. The audience was not just watching in admiration but also actively participating—when their city or organization was mentioned, they stood up and waved their flags, reinforcing the idea that every Jewish institution and every individual Jew is a true diamond for the Rebbe.
The highlight of the show was the eighth-grade class’s song, “Good Morning,” whose heartfelt lyrics were sung by the entire hall:
Good morning to all! We are from Ukraine!
Neither glory nor freedom have perished yet, no!
We are Sumy and Kharkiv, and Zmiinyi Island,
We are Kyiv, Chernihiv, Dnipro, and Irpin!
We are Lviv, Mykolaiv—our destiny is one,
And our hearts hold no fear, no sorrow within!
Good morning to all! We are Ukraine!
All will be well—for G-d is with us!
You and I are from Ukraine,
The Almighty is always near,
No one will defeat us,
For with the Rebbe, we all stand here!
At the grand finale, all the Mahon students took the stage, and the entire hall rose to its feet, greeting them with thunderous applause. A vibrant fireworks display added even more joy and inspiration to the celebration.
As the final notes of the performance faded, heartfelt words of gratitude were expressed to Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminezki, and Rebbetzin Chana, to Mahon director Rachel Milman, to scriptwriters Rivka (Irina Ivanovna) Lazareva and Anael Gaysinsky, as well as to the entire dedicated teaching staff of the Mahon.
The event was held with the support of the Jewish Community of Dnipro.
