Today, on the birthday of the esteemed Rabbi Moshe Leib Weber, a touching event occurred. Alexander Shafer, the head shammash of the “Golden Rose” Central Synagogue, brought to our editorial office a unique family photograph of the Weber family, taken more then ten years ago. For many years, he had carefully preserved this picture, and he found it and decided to share it precisely today – on the Rabbi’s birthday – to bring joy to the birthday celebrant and to give the entire community another warm memory.
In Chassidic teaching, the concept of Hashgacha Pratis – that nothing happens by chance and everything is guided by the Almighty – holds a special place. As the Lubavitcher Rebbe repeatedly taught, there are no coincidences in life, and every event occurs at a time precisely determined by the Almighty. It is therefore especially symbolic that this photograph saw the light of day precisely today, reminding us of the value of family memories, many years of friendship, and the good connections that unite the united and cohesive family of the Dnipro Jewish Community.
May this good find be yet another sign of blessing, and may the esteemed Rabbi Moshe Leib Weber merit many years of health, happiness, and success in his important work for the benefit of the Jewish people.
