Another JBBBS Meeting: Movies, Laughter, and Genuine Support

The JBBBS (Jewish Big Brothers/Big Sisters) project of the Dnipro Jewish Community is an initiative created to provide children with a sense of stability, friendship, and emotional support. It is part of the larger Kehila Project program, helping the younger generation grow up in an atmosphere of safety, care, and warmth.

During this meeting, the JBBBS participants embarked on a small but incredibly fun adventure – they visited a cinema together as a cheerful group. Even in the lobby, the children were eagerly sharing news, discussing their expectations, and laughing. When the lights in the theater dimmed, everyone settled in with pleasant anticipation. The animated film “Mision: Zveropotyag” (“Mission: Animal Train”) provided an hour and a half of genuine laughter, exciting adventures, and warm emotions. The children laughed at the comedic scenes, worried about the characters, and followed the plot with delight – the way only truly happy children laugh and marvel.

“Meetings of this format are an important part of our work. They help create a space where a child can feel lightness and joy, even if daily life is stressful and challenging,” notes the project manager, Tetyana Kaplunska. “We are incredibly happy for every opportunity to spend time with our children. Such moments give them a sense of support, warmth, and a real childhood. We are sincerely grateful to the Jewish communities of Dnipro and Greater Boston, as well as Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, for providing a space where children can rejoice, develop, and be themselves.

Ahead in JBBBS, there is much more to come: new trips, creative activities, shared holidays, and gatherings that leave bright memories in every child’s heart. We invite you to join our big, friendly family next Sunday. Details by phone: 068-480-30-52 (Natalia).”
